It makes perfect sense why Natasha is on Tony’s side. They said that there was going to be a doubt agent on either Iron Man or Captain America’s team and so she’s on Iron Man’s side to get information for Steve cause that’s just what she does. She literally handed Steve everything he needed to know about Bucky/The Winter Soldier, she wouldn’t back away now when he needs her most.
Why is it everything she does revolves around Steve? Why are Natasha’s actions for someone else and not herself? Nat is the reason Hydra/Shield is gone. She took down the most influential and most secretive organizations in the world because she knew without transparency they couldn’t win. She revealed the sins from her past for to take them down. She sacrificed her own safety and privacy for the world. She’s moved from one secret organization to another since she was child. She knows what living without accountability can be. She’s lived both sides. So again NAT’S WORLD DOESNT REVOLVE AROUND STEVEN ROGERS. SHE IS HER OWN PERSON. STOP MAKING HER STORY REVOLVE AROUND WHAT STEVE WANTS OR NEEDS. Also, given the excellent writing in CA: TWS and the twists, I can’t imagine the person who was seriously raised as weapon/spy would be the double agent in the movie. It’s a little too predictable. There’s only so many times Nat can pretend to like Tony before even she says “nah”.
Also, Nat canonicaly sided with Tony in Civil War. She makes her own choices based on her own morality and accountability is something she was literally talking about in Avengers. She wants to wipe the red from her ledger, take responsibility for it, not hide it.
